  • By plane

Pôle Caraïbe Airport in Pointe à Pitre is the main entrance in Guadeloupe (IATA code is PTP).

Several companies fly to Guadeloupe from all over the Caribbean, north America and Europe (Air Antilles express, Air Canada, Air Caraïbes, American Eagle, Air France, Corsair, Liat, Tropic Airlines, Air Italy, Neos, Wes Jet).

From Europe, at least 3 direct flys reache Guadeloupe every days from Paris (Orly or Charles de Gaulle airports).

  • By Ferry-boat

From Sainte Lucie - Martinique - Dominica - Les Saintes - Marie-Galante with "Express des ïles"

  • From the Airport to the conference site

There is no Buses from the airport to Le Gosier city. You will have to rent a car or ask a cab.

All major car rental companies have a desk at the airport. Some Hotel have a service to pick up people at the airport. Ask them.

  • From the Harbour to the conference site

There is buses... but take care, buses for Le Gosier city does't start from the bus station close to the harbour. you'll have to wolk downtown (near Victoire place - see the map).

The conference will take place at Le Salako hotel (Le Gosier). Participants are invited to find their hotel by themself.

Visa and Currency

  • Visa

Nota Bene : Guadeloupe IS NOT PART of Schengen convention territories. If you hold a visa for one of the Schengen states you will have to obtain a specific visa for Guadeloupe.

Download an invitation letter if necessary, or as the organizing committee.

Attendants and accompanying persons are invited to check with the french embassy or their travel agent for visa requirements.

For all the Lesser Antilles countries (except Trinidad and Tobago), the French embassy is at St Lucia

  • Currency

The currency is Euro. It is best to change at a bank as most shops will not accept US dollars

Payment with credit cards (visa - mastercard etc...) is widely accepted.

Banks should accept to change most of caribbean currency, however it is best to check before coming to Guadeloupe.

Conversely most of people will refuse checks, even french one, if they are not from a local bank.
